Description

These Crispy Orange Salmon Bowls feature golden salmon bites coated in a sweet, tangy orange ginger glaze, served over fluffy rice with tender broccoli for a fresh and flavorful weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 oz) salmon fillets, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger
  • 3/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • 2–3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce or tamari
  • 1–2 tablespoons fresh orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 cups cooked white or brown rice
  • 2 cups cooked broccoli florets

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon dry and cut it into 1-inch cubes.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the orange juice, honey, rice vinegar, soy sauce or tamari, orange zest, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Mix the cornstarch with a small amount of the prepared sauce in a separate bowl until smooth.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Add the salmon cubes in a single layer, working in batches if necessary. Sear until golden on the outside and cooked through, turning gently. Transfer to a plate.
  6. Reduce the heat to medium and pour the orange sauce into the skillet. Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
  7. Stir the cornstarch mixture again and add it to the skillet. Cook, stirring, until the sauce thickens into a glossy glaze.
  8. Return the salmon to the skillet and gently toss to coat. Warm through without breaking apart the salmon.
  9. Divide the cooked rice among four bowls. Add the cooked broccoli and orange-glazed salmon.
  10. Spoon any remaining sauce over the bowls and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use 2 tablespoons of honey for a balanced glaze or 3 tablespoons for a sweeter flavor.
  • Cook salmon in batches to help achieve golden edges.
  • For a gluten-free option, use certified gluten-free tamari and check all ingredient labels.
